Mudik Lebaran dan resikonya

Jumlah kecelakaan arus lalu lintas Lebaran terus meningkat. Hingga hari ini, polisi mencatat ada sekitar empat ribu lebih kasus kecelakaan yang terjadi saat musim mudik 2011.
Menurut Kepala Biro Penerangan Masyarakat, Markas Besar Polri Brigadir Jenderal Polisi I Ketut Untung Yoga Ana, jumlah kecelakaan dari 23 Agustus hingga Minggu 4 September 2011 mencapai 4.006 kasus, naik 996 kejadian atau sekitar 33,08 persen dibandingkan masa lebaran tahun sebelumnya, sebaanyak 3.010 kasus.
Sedangkan korban yang meninggal dunia tercatat turun dari 746 pada tahun 2010, menjadi 661 orang pada tahun ini. Ini berarti ada penurunan sebanyak 85 orang atau 11,39 persen.

Namun, jumlah korban yang mengalami luka-luka mengalami kenaikan. Angka korban yang mengalami luka berat naik 155 orang atau 15,91 persen.

"Rata-rata kecelakaan perorangan, misal kecepatan tinggi atau kelelahan," kata Juru Bicara Polri, Inspektur Jenderal Anton Bachrul Alam di Mabes Polri, Senin 5 September 2011.
Berkaitan dengan banyaknya kecelakaan selama arus mudik dan balik lebaran, Komisi V DPR akan meminta penjelasan pemerintah, khususnya Kementerian Perhubungan. Wakil Ketua Komisi V, Muhidin M Said mengatakan, jadwal rapat dengan Kementerian Perhubungan untuk membahas hal tersebut akan ditentukan besok.
Evaluasi mengenai hal tersebut, menurut Muhidin, diperlukan karena tingkat kecelakaan selama arus mudik lebaran meningkat meski sudah dilakukan perbaikan infrastruktur jalan.
